Two women bound in Fairfax store robbery
Two men bound the hands of a 48-year-old Alexandria woman and a 25-year-old Dumfries woman during a robbery Sunday morning at the Bancuscatlan Transfers store, according to Fairfax County police.
The men, both armed with handguns, entered the Richmond Highway store, leapt over the counter and stole money from the cash drawer before tying up the women and fleeing. There were no injuries. –William C. Flook
Two stabbed, beaten after party in Arlington County
A group of eight to 10 men stabbed two people and beat another with a baseball bat Sunday around 11:50 p.m. on the 200 block of N. Glebe Road, Arlington County police report. The three victims, who were on their way home from a party, were treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening wounds, police report. – Freeman Klopott
Police identify stabbing victim found in Alexandria
Fairfax County police on Monday identified a 24-year-old man who died Saturday night from stab wounds in Huntington. The body of Miguel Angel Herrera Maldonado, of Alexandia, was found in a 2300 block Fort Drive home at 11:30 p.m. Police believe the murder was “not random” according to a news release, but have not publicly identified any suspects. – William C. Man fatally shot identified
D.C. police have identified the person who was fatally shot and found in Southeast Washington Friday afternoon as 25-year-old Jason Dantley, of Forestville. The D.C. Fire and Emergency Services Department responded to a call of an unconscious person in the parking lot in the rear of 2320 Chester St. SE at about 3:30 p.m., and found Dantley suffering from a gunshot woundto the head. – Scott McCabe
