D.C. police have identified a man who was found dead in a burning sport-utility vehicle as 39-year-old William Climenth Gibson.
About 11:50 p.m. Friday, emergency units responded to a report of a vehicle fire in the 2900 block of Naylor Road SE. Firefighters extinguished the fire and found Gibson in the front seat with no signs of life.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Gibson was driving a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder when the SUV struck a parked vehicle and caught fire, police said. Gibson was the lone occupier of the vehicle, police said.
