Loudoun man arrested on suspicion of counterfeiting

A Leesburg man was arrested late Wednesday night after allegedly buying a motorcycle advertised on craig slist.com earlier in the day with $2,300 worth of counterfeit money. The seller called the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office early Wednesday morning to report 23 suspicious $100 bills he received from Faris Nassar, 25, said Loudoun Public Information Officer Kraig Troxell. “[The seller] became suspicious of the bills just by the look and feel of them — the quality of the paper was different,” Troxell said. Loudoun police officers conducted a search of Nassar’s home on the 43500 block of Emerald Dunes Place late Wednesday night and seized a motorcycle and more counterfeit money, among other items, Troxell said. – David Sherfinski
