A woman was sexually assaulted during a Lorton-area break-in, according to Fairfax County police.

Police said the 30-year-old woman awoke at 6 a.m. Saturday to find a masked man in her bedroom on the 7000 block of Lewis Chapel Circle. The man sexually assaulted the woman before fleeing her apartment.

The man broke into the home, police said.

Nothing was taken from the apartment, said Officer Shelley Broderick, a Fairfax police spokeswoman. She would not elaborate on the nature of the sexual assault.

Broderick would not say whether the man displayed or implied he had a weapon.

The suspect is described as a black man who is 6 feet to 6 feet 3 inches tall. He had a dark complexion and muscular build. The man was wearing a black shirt, pants and mask.
