April Ryan was defiant Thursday after White House press secretary Sarah Sanders lashed out at her for suggesting she had been “blindsided” by Rudy Giuliani’s revelations about porn star Stormy Daniels.
“I’ve been around 21 years at this White House, from the second term of Bill Clinton until the first term of Donald J. Trump,” Ryan, an American Urban Radio Networks corespondent, told CNN Thursday.
“I’ve seen impeachment, I’ve seen war, I’ve seen peace. So I understand the process. I’m not a dummy and do not discredit me,” she continued.
Ryan also described Sanders’ reaction to her question about Giuliani, a new addition to President Trump’s legal team, as “very street.”
During Wednesday’s press briefing, Sanders told reporters that she learned Trump had repaid personal attorney Michael Cohen the $130,000 given to Daniels as part of a nondisclosure agreement with Trump during Giuliani’s stunning interview on Fox News late Wednesday.
But Sanders snapped at Ryan for implying she had been “blindsided” by Giuliani’s comments.
“Well, I said it, but you were blindsided from what you said,” Ryan responded.
“With all due respect you don’t know much about me in terms of what I feel and what I don’t. I think we’re done,” Sanders fired back.

This is not the first time Ryan has clashed with the White House.
She has sparred with Sanders in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room over issues such slavery and whether Trump should resign because of “turmoil” experienced by his administration in the wake of Daniels’ allegations of an extramarital affair with Trump more than a decade ago.
