Two stealth fighters intercepted and visually identified two Russian Tu-95 “Bear” long-range bombers flying off the western coast of Alaska on Friday, according to a statement from NORAD.
The two bombers were identified north of the Aleutian Islands around the western coast of Alaska, NORAD said. The bombers were in an Air Defense Identification Zone, airspace in which unauthorized aircraft are identified and potentially intercepted for national security reasons.
