HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — Emergency management officials in Washington County say all lanes of eastbound Interstate 70 are closed just east of Hagerstown due to a motor vehicle accident.

Traffic was being diverted Tuesday afternoon onto eastbound U.S. 40 to northbound Route 66, and then back onto I-70 at the Route 66 interchange.

Authorities say they expect an extended closure of the eastbound lanes.
