White House press secretary Sarah Sanders slammed Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., on Wednesday for comparing President Trump’s treatment of the media to the way dictators have treated press in their countries, highlighting Flake’s past support for stabilizing the U.S.-Cuba relationship.

“He’s not criticizing the president because he’s against oppression,” Sanders told reporters at the White House. “He’s criticizing the president because he has terrible poll numbers.”
