O’Reilly: Colbert’s liberal ‘crew’ is ‘winning the culture war’

Fox News host Bill O’Reilly and CBS Late Show host Stephen Colbert sparred over the reason for division within the Republican Party during an interview Monday night.

The two TV hosts, conservative and liberal, respectively, immediately started bickering when the late night host called O’Reilly boring. The discussion quickly shifted gears to why some oppose GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump and others have flocked to him.

“Republicans are angry because they perceive progressive Americans, your crew …” O’Reilly started.

Colbert interrupted, “I gotta write this down. Wait, hold on. I am the problem here.”

But O’Reilly continued.

“So traditional conservative Americans believe that your crew, Colbert’s crew, is winning the culture war, the political progressive war is winning and the culture is changing and they don’t like it,” O’Reilly said to a loud round of applause from the audience who cheered the “changing” part.

The two talked about Democrats’ internal problems as well. Bernie Sanders appeals to socialists and progressives while Hillary Clinton has considerable support from African Americans and moderate liberals.

“The anger on the left is an economic-driven anger and the anger on the right is a cultural-driven anger,” O’Reilly said.
