BARRED: A California family believes they were discriminated against when American Airlines refused to allow them on a flight from Newark to Los Angeles. They claim it was because their son is disabled.

FIRST CLASS: Robert Vanderhorst, his wife and 16-year-old son had first class tickets. When they were ready to board, they were stopped by airline personnel, told their son was a “security risk” and could not board. The parents protested, and later were rebooked to fly coach with another airline.

MISBEHAVIOR? American Airlines says the disabled boy was agitated and running around the gate area prior to boarding.
