U.S. Park Police have identified the man killed on the Baltimore Washington Parkway earlier this week as 34-year-old William K. Ward of the District, and authorities are asking for information from anyone who might have seen what happened.

The crash happened around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday on the northbound parkway north of Riverdale Road.

Police received a 911 transfer call from a woman who reported some activity on the side of the road that might have involved Ward and another person. But the call was dropped before police were able to capture her contact information. Police would like to hear from that woman again.

Police would also like to hear from anyone else who might have seen this activity or saw a car driving very slowly or recklessly at a high speed.

Anyone with information can contact the U.S. Park Police tip line at (202) 610-8737.
