Melania Trump salutes Bob Dole in convention speech

CLEVELAND — Donald Trump’s wife, Melania, took a moment to recognize former Kansas senator and Republican presidential nominee Bob Dole during her primetime debut at the Republican National Convention Monday night.

“I would like to take a moment to recognize a great veteran, the amazing Sen. Bob Dole,” the potential first lady said to all 2,472 GOP delegates gathered here for a night of star-studded speakers.

Dole is the only living Republican presidential nominee attending this week’s convention. The shout-out by Trump’s wife drew massive applause from the audience.
