DNC chair: ‘I have no idea’ if Clinton leaked speech transcripts are real

Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Donna Brazile said she doesn’t know if transcripts released, supposedly of Hillary Clinton’s speeches to big Wall Street banks, are real and that she won’t even read them.

On ABC’s “This Week,” Brazile said she has instructed her staff not to read the transcript excerpts, published Friday by WikiLeaks, because they are “postmarked from Russia.”

“I refuse to open these documents,” Brazile said. “I refuse to allow a foreign government, foreign companies to manipulate information, so I don’t know if it’s true or not true. But I can tell you what she’s been saying in public about trade, what she’s been saying in public about Wall Street, what she’s been saying in public about immigration reform. I have no idea if those documents — they have been selectively leaking and manipulating documents.”

The transcripts, which Clinton has declined to make public and that Republicans have attacked her for, purport to reveal some of Clinton’s liberal leanings on immigration and global trade.

“I refuse to open them up,” said Brazile. “And I’ve asked the staff of the DNC and all of our Democratic allies, don’t open up that crap because it’s postmarked from Russia.”
