Georgia voters head to the polls Tuesday to decide a few primary runoffs. The headlining race is for the Republican gubernatorial nomination. Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle led in the first round of balloting in May, but his campaign has since experienced a series of setbacks. Cagel has the support of outgoing Gov. Nathan Deal, but his opponent Secretary of State Brian Kemp was boosted by an endorsement from President Trump. The winner will run against Democrat Stacey Abrams, who is seeking to be the first black woman elected governor.

Democrats will decide their nominees for Congress in the 6th and 7th Districts. The first is a suburban Atlanta district represented by Republican Rep. Karen Handel, who only narrowly captured the seat in an expensive special election last year. Lucy McBath and Kevin Abel are the Democrats vying to take her on this fall.

David Kim and Carolyn Bourdeaux are the Democrats running in the 7th District for the opportunity to challenge Rep. Rob Woodall, a Republican first elected in 2010 who has seldom faced serious opposition since.
