John Kerry says report he will run for president ‘is f—ing (or categorically) false’

John Kerry blasted a report from NBC News claiming that he is considering launching a 2020 bid president.

An NBC News analyst overheard Kerry, 76, in a Des Moines, Iowa, hotel lobby contemplating running for president because he doesn’t believe any of the Democrats in the field could beat Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders for the nomination during a Sunday phone call. Kerry has been campaigning for former Vice President Joe Biden ahead of Monday’s Iowa caucuses.

In response to the story, Kerry tweeted, “As I told the reporter, I am absolutely not running for President. Any report otherwise is f—ing (or categorically) false. I’ve been proud to campaign with my good friend Joe Biden, who is going to win the nomination, beat Trump, and make an outstanding president.”

Kerry deleted the tweet shortly after posting the brash remark and updated it with a less profane version, writing, “As I told the reporter, I am absolutely not running for President. Any report otherwise is categorically false. I’ve been proud to campaign with my good friend Joe Biden, who is going to win the nomination, beat Trump, and make an outstanding president.”

Kerry was reportedly overheard saying, “The possibility of Bernie Sanders taking down the Democratic Party — down whole.” Kerry told NBC that the report was “absolutely” not true prior to publication. Symone Sanders, a spokeswoman for Biden, also added, “Everyone knows that John Kerry is all in for us.”
