Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) believes protecting Ukraine in its territorial defense from Russia is not a key U.S. interest, separating himself from top Republicans, such as former Vice President Mike Pence and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), and adopting a vocal viewpoint more in line with former President and possible 2024 opponent Donald Trump.
