Facebook to launch global project aimed at stopping election hijinks

Facebook on Thursday was expected to announce a new partnership with the Atlantic Council to deter people who try to manipulate the social media site in order to sway elections around the world.

While Democrats have been pushing to investigate how Facebook might have been used to help Trump get elected, 87 percent of Facebook’s user base is outside of the U.S., creating more opportunity for election manipulation on a worldwide scale, according to Axios.
