Just over half of voters believe President Trump is racist as the president claims he is anything but.

A Quinnipiac Poll released Tuesday found 51% of voters think the president is racist, while 45% think Trump does not fit that description. It’s an increase of 2% since the last poll was taken in early July.

The opinion was split along party lines, with 86% of Democrats and 8% of Republicans believing Trump is prejudiced against other races. Fifty-six percent of independents also thought so.

There was also a divide among white voters, with 46% saying he is racist and 50% saying he is not. Eighty percent of black voters and 55% of Hispanic voters think Trump is racist.

Trump claimed Tuesday he is the “least racist person there is, anywhere in the world” as he faces condemnation for his attacks on minority members of Congress.

Quinnipiac surveyed 1,306 voters from July 25-28. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.
