Nurse tells CNN Trump’s coronavirus response is his ‘greatest achievement’: ‘He was the one who closed off all travel’

A nurse who has been working in her field for decades defended President Trump’s coronavirus response during a segment on CNN this week.

“I’m a nurse, and I’ve been a nurse for 27 years. And the response to the pandemic has actually been President Trump’s greatest achievement,” Michele Morrow argued on CNN’s New Day on Wednesday.

“He was the one who closed off all travel at the beginning of February. Do you guys remember what was happening in January? There were no other elected officials that were even thinking about COVID, because they were busy doing their impeachment. Joe Biden, he was the vice president for eight years, so why didn’t they prepare for a pandemic?” said Morrow, who is a Trump supporter, having voted for him in 2016 and says she will cast a ballot for him again come November.

The Trump War Room shared the clip to social media, saying, “North Carolina nurse Michele Morrow corrects the CNN narrative on President Donald Trump’s coronavirus response.”

Another professional working in the health field, Jill Rahrig, also touted Trump’s response to the virus during the segment.

“I’m also a … medical information administrator, worked in hospitals for 25 years. And I think President Trump actually has done a pretty good job. I’m impressed. I’m impressed with how he has garnered the help of the private sector to help get a vaccine going, bringing the PPEs in. Developing new ventilators. It’s all been good,” she said.

CNN has repeatedly been condemned by the president and others for reporting “fake news” in its coverage of the coronavirus and other issues.

“Fake News CNN, hold it,” Trump told CNN’s Jim Acosta in August after he asked about U.S. coronavirus deaths being higher than in other countries.

“We have done a great job in this country. We haven’t been given — and not me, I’m not talking about me,” Trump said. “The vice president, the task force, have not been given the kind of credit. If you look at countries all over the world are exploding right now — people that you said were doing a wonderful job, so wonderful, but right now, take a look at the countries that are exploding.”
