PALATINE, Ill. (AP) — A 35-year-old Palatine man is being held in lieu of $2 million bond on a first-degree murder charge after the death of a man the suspect allegedly punched outside a bar.
The Daily Herald in Arlington Heights reports (http://bit.ly/1pqB4Ov) reports Michael G. Platt was charged with aggravated battery after he threw a punch that hospitalized 26-year-old Ryan Flannigan on July 18. Platt posted bail after he was originally charged. Police arrested him again Tuesday at his girlfriend’s house.
Palatine police say Flannigan was outside a bar on July 18 when Platt allegedly threw an unprovoked punch at him. Flannigan fell back and was knocked unconscious when he struck his head on the sidewalk.
It was not immediately known if Platt has an attorney and he has an unlisted telephone number.
