Maryland State Police have updated their description of the gunman who struck the windshield of a speed camera vehicle on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway with a hammer on Wednesday.

Police said the man used a hammer to strike the window of the vehicle, which was parked on the parkway near Route 195, and was carrying a shotgun.

Police on Thursday described the suspect as a white man who is about 6 feet tall and 200 to 220 pounds. He is in his 50s or 60s, was wearing glasses and possibly has a pot belly. He was wearing a red-and-blue plaid shirt and blue jeans.

The man is believed to have walked through the nearby woods to a parking lot on the 1300 block of Concourse Road in Linthicum, entered a vehicle and left the area, police said.

Anyone who was on the parkway or in that area between 11 a.m. and noon Wednesday is asked to contact the state police’s Glen Burnie Barrack at 410-761-5130.
