House Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is standing her ground despite being rebuked by the party leadership.
The top three House Republicans, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Minority Whip Steve Scalise, and Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik, condemned her for repeated comparisons of the Holocaust to various aspects of coronavirus restrictions and regulations.

Greene did not acknowledge their criticism in a statement to the Washington Examiner regarding the controversy but was quick to point the finger at the Democratic Party.
“The media and Democrats and everyone feeding into it is allowing them to hide the truth, which is the disgusting antisemitism within the Democrat Party,” she said.
In an interview last week, Greene claimed Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s refusal to lift the mandate was the equivalent of how Nazis singled out Jews.
“You know, we can look back at a time in history where people were told to wear a gold star, and they were definitely treated like second-class citizens,” she said. “So much so, they were put in trains and taken to gas chambers in Nazi Germany, and this is exactly the type of abuse that Nancy Pelosi is talking about.”
She later stood by the comment, insisting to a reporter that she said “nothing wrong.”
In her statement to the Washington Examiner, the Georgia congresswoman cited progressive Democrats’ support for Palestinians during the Israel-Hamas escalation, alleging the “Jihad Squad” is “supporting terrorist Hamas.”
“At a time when the Socialist Democrats and the Jihad Squad are supporting terrorist Hamas, and their supporters are attacking Jewish people on the streets of America, it’s never been more important than now to stand up against forced vaccinations and mask mandates that the Left is using to discriminate against Americans who refuse to comply,” Greene said. “Their attempts to shame, ostracize, and brand Americans who choose not to get vaccinated or wear a mask are reminiscent of the great tyrants of history who did the same to those who would not comply.”
Both McCarthy and Scalise, in their statements rebuking Greene’s initial remarks, also claimed there was an apparent rise in antisemitism within the Democratic Party.
“Marjorie is wrong, and her intentional decision to compare the horrors of the Holocaust with wearing masks is appalling. The Holocaust is the greatest atrocity committed in history. The fact that this needs to be stated today is deeply troubling,” McCarthy said. “At a time when the Jewish people face increased violence and threats, anti-Semitism is on the rise in the Democrat Party and is completely ignored by Speaker Nancy Pelosi.”

All of the in-fighting has coincided with an increase in antisemitic attacks nationwide.
In the week after the latest violence between Israel and Hamas, the Anti-Defamation League found there were 193 reports of antisemitic incidents, which greatly outnumbers the number of attacks, 131, in the week that predated the tension.
