President Joe Biden said Washington’s commitment to Israel would not waver, even as his administration moved to shore up support for Palestinians after an 11-day conflict with Hamas militants left homes and buildings demolished across the Gaza Strip.
“There’s no shift in my commitment to the security of Israel. Period. No shift,” Biden said during a press conference with South Korean President Moon Jae-in. Dozens of Democratic lawmakers had urged Biden to demand a ceasefire from Israel.
