Conservative Republicans in Congress rage against Johnson’s latest ‘swamp omnibus’ spending plan

Republicans in both the House and Senate have raged against provisions included in the proposed “minibus” — combining six essential spending bills into one.

The legislation was proposed on Sunday, ahead of the Friday deadline to avert a partial government shutdown. Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) and Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) both expressed their disapproval of the proposal and declared it the “Swamp Omnibus” over the excessive number of earmarks and lack of action on the border.
