The FBI launched an investigation into an alleged Iranian hack of the Trump campaign.
The announcement is a step up from the agency’s previous statements, in which it only said that it was aware of the reports. The allegations were first revealed in a Friday statement from Microsoft, which said that Iranian-linked hackers sent a spear phishing email to a high-ranking Trump campaign official from the compromised account of another official.
