A D.C. man was sentenced to nearly 17 years in prison for his role in a brazen armed robbery in the Trinidad neighborhood.
Darrell Wilson,29, and co-defendant, McKinley “Rico” Johnson, 23, were convicted by a jury of multiple counts. Johnson was sentenced to 16 years last month. Wilson on Tuesday received 16 years and seven months.
Prosecutors said the duo approached four men and a female in front of a house near the 1200 block of 16th Street in May 2010, fired shots in the air ordered them onto the ground.
The gunmen rifled through the vicitms’ pockets, taking several wallets, cell phones and other items. In all, the suspects fired 19 shots in the air.
