Former Central Intelligence Agency Director John Brennan skewered President Trump for pandering to his base in addition to questioning his human decency.
Brennan responded to the president’s Saturday morning tweet, which touted the loyalty and successes of his base, by questioning if there was a “scintilla of decency” left in him.
“All Americans—not just your supporters—deserve a President who is honest, ethical, selfless, & substantive,” he tweeted before questioning Trump’s priorities.
All Americans—not just your supporters—deserve a President who is honest, ethical, selfless, & substantive. Our country faces daunting domestic & international challenges. If there is a scintilla of decency left in you, you would focus on your responsibilities, not on yourself. https://t.co/dVE2GlDRr7

“Our country faces daunting domestic & international challenges. If there is a scintilla of decency left in you, you would focus on your responsibilities, not on yourself,” he continued.
Earlier in the morning, Trump praised his supporters as “the smartest, strongest, most hard working and most loyal that we have seen in our countries history.”
My supporters are the smartest, strongest, most hard working and most loyal that we have seen in our countries history. It is a beautiful thing to watch as we win elections and gather support from all over the country. As we get stronger, so does our country. Best numbers ever!
