Republican leaders emerge from Indiana in support of Trump

Republican strategists and GOP leaders emerged from Tuesday’s primary win for front-running presidential candidate Donald Trump with statements of support for the party’s likely nominee.

It was as if the party’s talking heads reached an agreement behind closed doors to support the New York businessman whenever the second place candidate, Ted Cruz, chose to end his campaign.

“There’s a lot about Donald Trump that I don’t like, but I’ll vote for Trump over Hillary any day,” tweeted Ari Fleischer, the former White House Press Secretary for George W. Bush.

Despite writing a critique of Trump in CNN earlier Tuesday, former Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal also said he would support Trump as the GOP selection in November.

“Today we have got two choices. It’s either [Trump] or [Clinton],” Jindal said on Fox News late Tuesday.

Founder and president of Americans for Tax Reform, an organization that opposes all tax increases, Grover Norquist also backed Trump in a less direct fashion.

“Ok. So the choice is between a fireman with modest preparation and an serial arsonist whom married into the job,” Norquist wrote.

Richard Grenell, a Fox News contributor and former U.S. diplomat for the United Nations, inadvertently backed Trump.

“I’m voting for the nominee. He’s way better than Hillary,” wrote Grenell.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich shared high hopes that Trump could be the best thing that ever happened to the party.

“[Trump] may turn out to be the most effective, anti-left leader in our lifetime,” Gingrich told Fox News host Sean Hannity.
