The national average price for a gallon of regular gas remained steady after setting a new low for 2024 on Tuesday. Thursday’s price for regular gas is $3.063 per gallon, according to AAA. This is the same price as Tuesday. On Wednesday, there was a very minuscule increase when the price was $3.066.
Gas prices are at their lowest price point since June 2021, when the average cost for a gallon of gas was $3.064, according to the Energy Information Administration. Since then, high gas prices, at over $3 per gallon (and, for a brief period, over $4 per gallon), have been a financial burden to drivers.
