OAKWOOD, Va. (AP) — Police have identified a Virginia Department of Transportation worker who died in a collision between a backhoe and a tractor-trailer.
The Virginia State Police tells media outlets that 47-year-old Carlos Keen of Oakwood was pronounced dead at a hospital in Richlands.
State police say a tractor-trailer driven by 25-year-old Trevor Cole of Whitewood hit a backhoe driven by Keen. The accident occurred Tuesday afternoon on U.S. 460 in Oakwood.
Cole was treated and released.
State police say the backhoe’s warning lights were working. The investigation is continuing.
