Fox News host Tucker Carlson ripped into ABC’s The View hosts after a contentious segment they had with Alan Dershowitz, a member of President Trump’s impeachment defense.
“Clearly, they despise the president. They seemed entirely sincere about that, but, like so many people who are running and commenting on the impeachment trial, they seem to have no idea what it’s actually about,” the host said Friday on his show. “They don’t understand the charges. They know nothing about the historical precedent. Facts and details are irrelevant to them.”
“They didn’t even bother to read the GAO report that they introduced as evidence. They got it backward. Not that it slowed them down or ever does. They are lazy and silly and wrong, but, at the same time, they are utterly certain they are on the morally correct side of history,” he added.
The comments follow a Thursday episode of The View in which Dershowitz defended the president while the hosts spoke over him. At one point during the show, host Whoopi Goldberg threatened to cut him off for trying to respond to a comment Joy Behar made.
When Dershowitz laughed at her, Goldberg scolded Dershowitz for not showing enough respect. “You’re laughing,” she said. “I’ve always been respectful to you, and you’ve always been respectful to me.”
