Market closes with Dow up 2,900 points, S&P 500 up 12% after Trump pauses tariffs

The stock market rocketed upward on Wednesday after President Donald Trump paused his recently implemented tariffs on dozens of countries while increasing China’s tariff to 125%.

The Dow rose by nearly 3,000 points. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq indexes were up 9.5% and 12.2%, respectively, at market close.
