Good Friday celebrated by politicians and faith leaders

Easter weekend began on Good Friday, with many politicians and faith leaders taking to social media to remember the Christian holiday.

Good Friday marks the day Jesus Christ died on the cross before rising from the dead three days later, a pivotal moment within the Easter holiday and Holy Week. On Friday morning, several officials within the Trump administration reflected on Good Friday, including Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, who posted a video speaking with midshipmen about Easter during his visit to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
