Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) is calling on the Trump administration to reverse its defense of Biden-era abortion pill policies, urging Attorney General Pam Bondi to rethink the Justice Department’s current position in a high-stakes lawsuit over the Food and Drug Administration’s regulation of mifepristone, the nation’s most commonly used abortion drug.

In a letter sent to Bondi on Wednesday, Hawley pressed the DOJ leader to reconsider the agency’s defense of policies allowing the abortion pill to be sold online and mailed directly to patients, which the senator argues has created “severe health risks” for women and undermined states’ rights to impose safety restrictions.
