The Washington Examiner’s Joe Concha said an apparent effort to oust Democratic National Committee Vice Chairman David Hogg is straight out of the “Soviet playbook” because it is an attempt to take down a prominent face within its own party.

Hogg, who was elected to the role in February, has accused the committee of trying to fast-track his removal as vice chairman. He claimed this is because of his efforts to “reform the party,” including bringing in younger candidates. While Concha, a senior writer for the Washington Examiner, said he always felt that Hogg was a “horrible choice” for DNC vice chairman, he added that this flies in the face of the party’s advocacy to support democracy and that the “cowardly” move is not how to address dissatisfaction with Hogg.
