Democrats launch petition demanding full release of Mueller report

The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee has launched a petition on the heels of special counsel Robert Mueller ending the investigation into possible collusion between President Trump and Russia.

The committee, the official wing of the Democratic National Committee tasked with electing Democrats into state legislatures across the country, sent an email to supporters urging them to support the release of Mueller’s report to the public.

Similar to the email blasts sent by some Democratic White House hopefuls, the links to sign the petition in the email lead to a page soliciting donations to the committee.

“We deserve to know whether Trump himself colluded with a hostile power to attack our democracy. We NEED to know whether Trump and his cronies have been breaking the law ever since,” the email said.

“This is the moment we have been waiting for. After months of watching Trump attack Mueller’s investigation as a ‘witch hunt,’ we may finally learn what Trump has been so afraid of everyone finding out.”

The call is the latest from Democrats on the report. From the onset of the announcement that Mueller turned over his long-awaited report on the Russia investigation to Attorney General William Barr, 2020 Democratic presidential candidates began calling for its immediate release.
