MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — Officials from the state Department of Corrections plan to visit a Kentucky facility where more than 200 Vermont inmates have been under a longer-than-usual lockdown.

Richard Byrne is the department’s out-of-state casework supervisor. He says a series of potentially gang-related assaults caused the lockdown at the Lee Adjustment Center in Beattyville.
