Prince George’s County firefighters were busy in the early hours of Thanksgiving putting out two separate fires that totaled $350,000 in damage.

The first fire broke out at a home just before 11 p.m. Wednesday where the residents were smoking a turkey, according to the county fire department. Spokesman Mark Brady said fire investigators believe the occupants were preparing the Thanksgiving turkey on a propane grill on the rear deck of the house in the 500 block of Prince George Street in Laurel.
