Republican leaders extended early congratulations to Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin for his presumed win in the Virginia governor’s race against Democrat Terry McAuliffe.

Although the race has not yet been declared for Youngkin, his healthy lead prompted Ronna McDaniel, chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, to celebrate the “red wave.”
