RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Richmond’s Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden has received a tourism award.
A group of judges named it one of the “Top 10 North American Gardens Worth Travelling For.” The award was presented earlier in March as part of the 2013 Garden Tourism Awards in Toronto.
The awards are presented annually for the development and promotion of the garden experience as a tourism attraction.
The nonprofit Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden offers more than 50 acres of gardens, dining and shopping. Among the more than a dozen themed gardens are a children’s garden with a tree house.
