Trump waves to more than 1,000 supporters gathered in Mar-a-Lago for Presidents Day

Former President Donald Trump made an appearance to his supporters in Florida who were celebrating Presidents Day and Trump’s recent acquittal in the Senate.

“This is unbelievable! 45 returns to Mar-a-Lago this afternoon, after an awesome day out on the links….to this,” former White House deputy chief of staff and director of social media Dan Scavino tweeted Monday, accompanied by a video of Trump’s motorcade driving past supporters congregated on the street.

It was Trump’s first public appearance since he was acquitted of inciting an insurrection following the storming of the Capitol on Jan. 6. He was seen waving to the crowd from his car.

The organizer of the event, which was called the “Presidents’ Day ‘Peaceful and Patriotic’ Pro-Trump Rally,” estimated that 1,200 supporters were in attendance.

Donald Trump Jr. also shared a video ahead of Presidents Day, which showed a plane in Florida flying a banner that read, “We love you Prez Trump [heart symbol] Happy Valentine’s Day!”

“Now this is a Valentine’s Day fit for POTUS 45!!!! Amazing stuff and thanks to whoever did this. Too cool,” the former president’s son wrote in the caption of the video on Instagram.
