Chicago Democrat wants Trump’s help, says crime has residents in ‘state of fear’

A Chicago Democrat is bucking his political party’s trend of rejecting President Donald Trump’s suggestion to deploy federal troops to his city to fight crime. 

Alderman Raymond Lopez, a Democrat from Chicago’s 15th Ward, wants Trump to send the National Guard to his city because of its crime problem. Lopez expressed his support for the idea during an interview on NewsNation’s Elizabeth Vargas Reports.
