The Department of Homeland Security reported a significant increase in drug seizures in August. 

Customs and Border Protection officers identified the uptick over the summer, which reversed a trend of a relatively low number of drug apprehensions in recent months. According to a press release from the DHS, August had the “third-highest monthly total of drug seizures” since President Donald Trump began his second term.
