Earle-Sears launches new ad hitting Spanberger in governor's race

Virginia Republican gubernatorial nominee Winsome Earle-Sears is trying to reframe weeks of negative ads from Democrat Abigail Spanberger with a new six-figure statewide ad that reframes the controversy over the viral “I’m speaking” clip and other attacks.

“They pick your worst day,” the ad begins, interspersed with audio from Spanberger’s own spot. “I’m speaking now,” Earle-Sears is heard saying, followed by, “They twist your words,” and then, “And I think that’s good,” pulled from a recording by Democratic opposition group American Bridge.
