Egypt’s military rulers accused the country’s media of working to destabilize the country as the confrontation between the military council and the pro-democracy movement trying to oust the generals continued. At least 14 people have been killed in clashes between protesters and the military in the past four days.
Maj. Gen. Adel Emara, a member of the council that took power after Hosni Mubarak was deposed in a popular uprising in February, called the protests an organized attack on the military junta, abetted by the media.
