Border czar Tom Homan is scheduled to speak at a press conference in Minneapolis on Wednesday at 9 a.m. It will be his second press conference since being tasked by President Donald Trump with leading Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations in the city.
Homan replaced Greg Bovino, former commander-at-large of Border Patrol, in Minneapolis after two anti-ICE activists, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, were killed in confrontations with law enforcement officers. Homan’s appointment to lead ICE operations was part of the Trump administration’s effort to de-escalate tensions in the city.
Last week, Homan met with Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey to plot a path forward amid the high tensions after the deaths of Good and Pretti.
