Israel issues ‘urgent’ warning to Iranian civilians to ‘refrain’ from train travel

Israel Defense Forces issued a warning early Tuesday morning, urging Iranian citizens not to travel by train until the evening. The message was posted on social media, specifically on the IDF’s Farsi accounts. No explanation was given for the warning, but the IDF stressed the urgency of the message, stating it was for “the sake of your security.”

“Urgent warning to users and train passengers in the country of Iran,” read the message in a translated post from the IDF Farsi X account

“Dear citizens, for the sake of your security, we kindly request that from this moment until 21:00 Iran time, you refrain from using and traveling by train throughout Iran,” the social media post read. “Your presence on trains and near railway lines endangers your life.”

The IDF warning would appear to signify strikes by Israel on Iran’s train routes that could possibly harm civilians. However, no specific cities, regions, or areas of Iran were specified in the warning, and no other information has been made publicly available. Moreover, no strikes were reported on Iranian train routes at the time of publication of this article.

The timing of the message comes almost 24 hours since Israel announced it killed several members of Iranian leadership in strikes on Sunday and Monday, including Majid Khademi, the chief of intelligence for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Asghar Bakri, commander of the Guard’s Quds Force’s clandestine Unit 840, and Kamil Melhem, the artillery chief for the Imam Hossein Division, a Hezbollah-linked Iranian militia, in Lebanon.

The IDF warning also comes less than a day before the deadline imposed by President Donald Trump for Iran to reach a peace deal with the United States and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The cutoff for an accord is supposedly “Tuesday, 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time!” according to a post by Trump to his Truth Social account.

The president reinforced the severity of his warning on Monday during a press conference at the White House briefing room, the Washington Examiner previously reported.

TRUMP WARNS IRAN OF ‘COMPLETE DEMOLITION’ AHEAD OF TUESDAY DEADLINE

“The entire country can be taken out in one night, and that night might be tomorrow night,” Trump said

If no deal is reached, Trump threatened “complete demolition” of Iran, mentioning that every bridge and power plant in the country would be taken out in military strikes by the U.S.

“We have a plan because of the power of our military, where every bridge in Iran will be decimated by 12 o’clock tomorrow night, where every power plant in Iran will be out of business, burning, exploding, and never to be used again,” the president said. “I mean complete demolition by 12 o’clock, and it will happen over a period of four hours.”
