More than 10,000 people in the United States have died after contracting the coronavirus.
On Monday, the U.S. death toll hit 10,335 according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University. More than 347,000 people have confirmed cases of the coronavirus.

Most of the cases and deaths have occurred in New York. As of Monday, the state had more than 130,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 4,758 related deaths.
Nearly 19,000 people in the U.S. have fully recovered since contracting the coronavirus.

President Trump warned U.S. citizens that the battle against the coronavirus is going to get tougher before it gets easier during a briefing Sunday.
“In the days ahead, America will endure the peak of this terrible pandemic. Our warriors in this life and death battle are the incredible doctors and nurses and healthcare workers on the frontline of the fight. We pledge to them our eternal gratitude and everlasting support,” Trump said.
“We see light at the end of the tunnel. Things are happening. Things are happening. We’re starting to see light at the end of the tunnel,” he added.
