The Space Force has chosen “Semper Supra” as its service anthem.
The song, whose title translates to “always above,” was composed by Air Force veteran Jamie Teachenor, working with Chief of Space Operations Gen. John “Jay” Raymond and Coast Guard musician Sean Nelson, according to Space Force News. Teachenor approached Raymond soon after the creation of the Space Force, and the two began work on the song almost immediately. The completed version was presented at the 2022 Air & Space Forces Association Air, Space and Cyber Conference in Maryland on Tuesday.
