The U.S. military launched another round of strikes against Iran for the second consecutive day late Wednesday night into Thursday morning. The military operation was described as “self-defense strikes” and came after failed efforts to agree to a peace deal and after Iran shot down a U.S. Apache helicopter on Monday. Renewed military strikes have bombarded the Middle East in recent days, with the United States and Iran launching tit-for-tat strikes against each other.

“U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces completed additional self-defense strikes against multiple targets in Iran, June 10, at the Commander in Chief’s direction,” read a social media post by U.S. Central Command.
